The 2001 Summer Conference, 'Designing with Style', brought APLD members
together from around the country to discuss and witness the art of
blending Landscape Design with Architectural Style. Speakers included
Charles Birnbaum, Charles Cresson, Fred Spicer, and APLD members, Greg
Pierceall and Gerry Kiffe. In addition to the illustrious speakers
present, those in attendance visited numerous sites in Louisville including
a tour to the Humana Building designed by Michael Graves. The group
also saw various iron-fronted 19th Century Victorian Buildings and
visited the Waterfront Development Corporation where David Karem, Executive
Director, spoke about Riverfront Park and gave a tour of the building.
