Opportunity to network with my peers and discuss opportunities for professional advancment.
These opportunities are particularly valuable and memorable in the forum of the National Conferences.

Goals as APLD Member:

1. Design and implement a process for more frequent internation conferences (one every five years). We are an organization with international members. Not only is it logical that more of our programs be held outside the United States, but this would also offer more opportunities for our United States members to travel abroad and gain valuable first-hand experience in landscape design and garden history.
2. Attract a minimum of 25% of our total membership to the National Conference annually. Conferences are currently being attended by approximately 15% of our membership annually.
3. Maintain a fiscally sound programming budget that will sustain robust future operations, thus improving our capability of attracting higher-profile speakers and drawing program attendees from organizations outside of the APLD.

I'm grateful for this opportunity to serve with such a dedicated group of individuals who are interested in advancing the profession stature of our industry as I am. Our international programming has evolved to one of the most prestigious offerings to landscape designers and I intend to carry on that tradition and poise of our membership for even greater achievements in the future.
